Why Women Have to Find Themselves After Kids Get Older

It hit me the other day why women always seem to need to "find themselves" after their kids reach a certain age. Before women are having kids, people look at them. They talk to THEM. And are interested in THEM. Then once the child is there people cease to want to know about HER and are more focused on the children. And the kids' development and achievements and the kids' dreams. Family wants to know how the kids are doing. They call to talk to the children. They visit.. to see the children. Once the kids get older, people start to not be AS interested in them, but they're not really interested in mom either. I think this is why women feel the need to "find themselves" after children reach a certain age. I know I feel ignored at times, but I pray that I continue to have my interests, dreams, and ambitions. So, if you see a mother with her children out. It's ok to tell her how cute they are and ask about them, but don't forget to ask a...

Back online!! Yay!

We have our internet back, and I'm done making Christmas gifts so here goes an update. :) Did I ever mention I crochet? I made a bunch of gifts for my family and got them sent out. I made my first sweater! It turned out pretty nice. I have another one planned of my own design that I haven't started yet. So we'll see how that goes! My little one turned two! He's such a smart little stinker. He talks, he understands, he's potty trained, and he is tough as nails. My hormones are still crazy. It's hard to feel confident when you're hormones are ridiculous and you're covered with painful acne. Plus just feeling like your emotions and anger are all out of wack doesn't help. But it's been better than it was. My moods I mean. We have a vehicle! My hubby surprised me with it at Thanksgiving. It's nice to have wheels, but not nice sinking a butt load of money into it before it was safe to drive. We had to replace the rotors, calipers, an...

Split personality

Since noticing that my hormones are playing a massive role in my depression and anger, I've been paying more attention to it. I can feel the changes in my body and mind. My body is doing things and I have no control of it! Not having control of things is something I don't like. Lol I feel like I have a split personality and the person that I like and want around only shows up one week out of every month. And it sucks! I'm coming up on a really tough week ahead. I always get extremely irritated (very easily), I'm always tired, and my headaches get worse- sometimes (I should sry most of the time) to migraine level. So please add myself and my family into your prayers this week, or as we come to mind, because it's going to be a bumpy ride. I'm hoping once we have insurance I'll be able to find a doctor who wants to help me find out what's going on. Even if that means giving blood every week for months to monitor my hormones! Also, if you're pr...

Proud Mama

I am such a blessed woman. I am so thankful God chose me to my boys' mom. Today my little one, who turns two in a couple months is now potty trained and is doing it without any treats and is dry most nights. And today he counted items correctly up to three. :) And my older one has straight As and is doing crazy awesome in school! I couldn't be any more proud! An update to my creepy neighbor... He tried again today.. This time with a box of cereal.. I opened the door a little, with my camera going, told him no more, and shut the door. Hopefully he got the hint. Good night all!

What female would actually like that!?

This post will be about two totally different things that both fit this title. FIRST: I'm emotionally/mentally having a good week. Why? Because it's that time of the month. It's crazy that only while my cycle is here are my hormones better and  I feel like a normal person. This week I have enjoyed my boys and all their goofiness. I was able to help my son with his homework without getting frustrated with him for not paying attention or acting like he doesn't know what I'm talking about when he already did it. I was able to laugh at my little one's craziness instead of being annoyed. I was able to run around playing with the kids and my dog. It's been good. But really... what female actually looks forward to having her period?? SECOND: One of my neighbor's is an older man who speaks little English. He has been very kind to me and my husband. And regularly helps me with the lawn work. He has given us some fruit from their plants and has s...

Loving the unlovable.

When someone has a broken leg you don't tell them to "walk it off". When a man is hit in his junk, we laugh, but we don't tell them to "get over it" or "it doesn't hurt that bad" (okay so maybe we do but it's usually still funny. Not that they got hit there, but their reaction and usual high pitched squeals lol) My point is: When someone is battling depression or other mental illnesses it's not okay or acceptable to tell them to "get over it" or "snap out of it". It's kind of like expecting a fish to breath when it's not in water. The best thing to do if you love someone battling depression is give them never ending love and compassion. They most likely don't feel lovable and quite possibly will push you away and tell you to go find someone who isn't so screwed up. (I know I've done it!) But don't give in. Don't hurt them back because they say something mean or have an attitude. They...

Right this moment...

Right this moment I'm laying with my one year old sleeping on me with his arm wrapped around my neck. Right this moment nothing else matters. Right this moment everything is okay. Last night sucked. This morning sucked. But right now is just right. <3
